Flow rachet slipping

So out on the mountain today, trying to get my rear foot in. Realize that the toe strap has *tightened* by itself. This has never happened before. It appears the lock mechanism has gotten loose (i.e., it doesn't properly lock) and the strap will slip tighter as I'm skating around, etc.

Has this happened to anyone else? It's a real pain because I found myself having to loosen the toe strap, then do my straps regular style which defeats the purpose of the rear entry system.

I'm thinking about calling Flow and asking them to send out a replacement rachet.

(FWIW, these are Flow Five-SEs)

Assuming you Five-SE are the current year ones.

Start there and look for my posts through the rest of the thread. I had the same issue and figured out it is because of the ladder strap being too thin. I layered some cut up vinyl stickers on the under side of the ladder strap and that has completely solved the issue.

Yes, they are 2013s.

I watched your video. My problem only occurs with the toe strap on the right binding but the slipping is exactly what happens. I love how others think you were stepping on the strap.

I'll try some vinyl electrical tape on the ladder, see if that does the trick.

Okay, I layered three pieces of electrical tape underneath each ladder. Works. Sprayed some water on there and still seems to work. I can't tell if its the friction caused by the vinyl or the extra thickness. But it seems to solve the problem.

Thanks so much!! Flow needs to know about this.
