Hey guys, just recently got a new setup for the season, Capita Horrorscope 155 with some Union Contact bindings, been riding for a few months on it and noticed something that I think is unusual... The baseplate of the bindings appear to not be fully in contact with the board. Here are some photos to show what I mean:
This is from the heel-edge aiming down the board, where the baseplate is shown to be about 1/8-1/4" from contact with the board [IMG] [/IMG]This is from the heel edge, but a head-on angle ![]() And this one is for good measure ![]() Any idea why this is so? My older setup with Burton Missions shows the baseplate fully in contact across the board... Are these 'Contacts' supposed to be not fully in contact? I'm sure they would be when I'm actually ON the board, but this seems dumb that they aren't naturally. |

I have the same bindings as you do, and yes they are only in contacts with my board right under the bolts. They kinda lift off like yours. It is designed to be that way. It makes the board feel more like a skateboard, which makes it easier to stay light on your feet, as opposed to my other set of K2's which are standard bindings. It just makes the bindings feel really floaty and roll-prone.
