Winter.....or Spring?

Posted 12-19-2011 at 12:16 AM by NWBoarder (PNW Randomness and PooPow)

You tell me, cause the weather and conditions scream spring, and yet, it's only the middle of December. At least we have snow to slide on though. And slide I did today. It was my first clinic day for my new instructing job, and also my first clinic day ever. I had such a blast though and learned so much stuff about teaching people (especially kids) how to ride. Then we got to get some time with the clinicians where they just watched us ride and gave us pointers, as well as taking requests for what...

First trip of the year

Posted 12-13-2011 at 12:38 AM by Gangstatalk (My snowboarding Life)

So pumped, I found out about a website called OvRride who does trips all winter out of NY and NJ. I am going on a trip to Killington, in Vermont, with them this weekend December 16th-18th.

About 60 people all around my age taking 5 hour bus ride up to Vermont for the weekend to stay at some Slope side condos. Definitely should be a great time.

Vermont temps finally went down last week so the mountain has been blowing snow full time for about 2 weeks now.

2011-12-11 Just getting started now

Posted 12-12-2011 at 01:46 PM by Donutz (This Side Up)

I was up Seymour yesterday for my third session this season. This one felt like the first real session, though. My first time up on Nov 26 was just for a couple of hours because I was getting over the flu. My second time up, last week, was pretty tame because I was just getting my sea legs back. Yesterday, I finally started pushing again.

Unfortunately with the crappy snow situation, there's not a ton of stuff to do. Side hits are non-existant, most of the runs are either closed completely...
