So I have found my summer sport to both keep me in shape while there is no snow and give me my partial fix so i can stop dreaming at night about being on a mountain. I picked up freebording because it IS the ONLY thing close to actually snowboarding that you can do. There is definitely a learning curve to freebording coming from the snow to the pavement, but after an hour you get the hang of it.

For me it took around an hours to successfully link sliding carves on the freebord and i was happy that I could comfortably scrub off speed. However the rocker on the freebord is something that is definitely different from a snowboard. Every time I would go out, at least for the first 10 hours or so (cumulative) it would take a few minutes to set in memory the differences in the riding style.

Now, i am sitting at around 15 hours total riding time and I can hop on the board and withing the time it takes me to get to the first carve i am ready to go. I have finally adapted my technique so that I would fluidly hop onto the freebord and go. It is all downhill from here.... no pun intended
