Default First day out this season—new boots HURT!

I got a pair of the 32 ultralights for this season, and was really excited about them. I had tried them on in the store and walked around with them for a while before deciding they seemed comfortable. After about 3 or 4 runs with them however, my feet were numb. Does anyone else suffer from this? I’ve had probably 6 or 7 pairs of boots ovr the years—and not matter what I try, my feet always end up kind of numb at the end of the day. I’m not talking cold, but like numb from pressure being applied.

Is it possible to be completely comfortable in a pair of boots or is this the norm? I think im gonna go back to the drawing board—and I’m looking for any help or suggestions.

I also have wide feet—this might be contributing to my discomfort. Any tips or ideas?

yeah the liners are molded to my feet--which is fine. i think that the boots might be a size too small. i should have gotten the 10 1/2s maybe? my toes hit the front of the boot, and i think that is part of the reason i am uncomfortable. my last pair of boots were the same way though--and i didnt experience so much discomfort.

i have wide feet and the burtons fit me way better than 32's. I tried the 32's on at the shop and i'm like ok this is fine, but then i tried on a set of burtons and they just fit way better. Try loosening up your boots though. Also the boots should pack out over time. Maybe it'll get better?

yeah i'm hoping they pack out a bit. last year's boots i got in a 10.5 and they packed out at least a half of a size--which left my legs working a lot harder for turns.

maybe i'll have to give them a little more time.

I had the same problem, my last pair of 32 boots were a horrible fit for me. My toes were banging up against the front on heelside turns. I had to sell them.

as a whole i want to like them. they are definitely super light weight and smaller profile. before they started really bothering me, i thought they were feeling great.

warmth was not an issue either--i stayed warm, but it was 29, and 45 on sunday and monday respectively. hopefully they become a little more comfortable. if not--i got them for a steal, and i'll go ahead with other boot suggestions?

who else has wide feet?

My feet are a bit wider, not super wide though. I found Northwave Decade's to be heavenly. If you can try on a pair, I would suggest giving them a try.

funny you should say that, i own a pair about 2 seasons old which i jsut replaced. all weekend i was thinking about how i should have brought them with me. maybe i'll try looking at the newer models in a smaller size. i found that my 10.5's packed out a little too much, but were pretty comfy.
