I have a Neversummer SL 158 which i have taken Abroad with me a few times and will be again in Jan. Iv only really Done Off piste and Normal Runs....had a couple of Bad hits on Kickers and boxes/jumps so i have Completely stayed away from them all. I usually go away with a group of guys who Ski...so its pretty full on trying to keep up with the pace. This year there are a few Beginners so i know i will have a lot more time to help them along and Learn some new tricks and piss about, i really want to come on in that area so im thinking of buying a Jib board to Focus on all those jumps and little Tricks you can do but i really have no idea what to get...Thinking of a Lib tech Banana 154? any advice
Im 5"10 and 13 stone
Should i take two boards away with me or just take one...?
yeah, it really depends on your budget and how much you will ride the thing...
if it's just to mess around with on this one trip, i think you'd have a better time finding a rental place that can demo some good park/jib boards. this way you can even try more than one and see what you like. save some cash too.
SL is pretty well rounded, and can definitely do all that stuff too
I too have an SL 158 and this season I picked up an Arbor Westmark 56 for something a little more playful. I think the skate banana would be fun also. Maybe find something used.
I have an SL 158 and it is perfect for what your wanting to learn. Like Shredlife said, if you can't do it on your board then you won't be able to do it on another board. It's technic that you need not a different board. That said, there is nothing wrong with adding a new board to your quiver. Just don't expect to gain some magical ability to do tricks because you bought a new board.
P.S. I'd rather hit kicker on the SL then my skate banana because the SL is very stable and will support you better. Buttery rail tricks is another story.
Thanks for the help, yes i will just try it on the SL then and see how i get on.....think i will rent a park board when i go away for a day or two instead of buying on at the moment and see how i get on.
renting a park board, if even possible is probably a mistake. bashing rails and boxes on a rental is a good way to end up owning a shitty broken board that was probably damaged before you got it, but was finished off by you. additionally the "insurance" coverage on rental typically excludes park use like rails and boxes (falls under negligence/misuse provision).
the SL is a freestyle board. it is better for park than any board with mag imo.
you just need to learn how to ride a snowboard better. you don't need another board.
