I am going to go to a sale at my local shop and they said there will also be samples for sale. I was wondering if anyone has any info what a sample sale is?
Sample sales are usually items that are produced before the item are mass produced. You should ask them if they were worn or used, they shouldn't be. Items that were used a few times should be listed as Demo items.
I have bought a few items that were samples but never worn or used. This includes boards, bindings and jackets.
For example I bought a Burton Custom at the burton sample sale. It was not used but it was a different color than the one that was mass produced later. Sometimes they produce samples to look at then they decided to make minor changes such as color to it.
It's usually the reps demo fleet, pre-production models, and stuff that doesn't have the right QC. Sometimes you get a dud but that's few and far between.
