Looking for a good freeride board for Alaska (late march) for mostly Heli. I plan on bring my splitboard but not sure how accessible the terrain is over there when it comes to split boards. Im looking for a good solid board something that can handle speed very well and has good float. Strong! also hate to go all the way out there and have the damn thing break on me in the first run. Really considering Furberg Freeride board I hear great things about these boards only thing im worried about is durability. Consider Venture mainly due to strength but not sure which one would be suitted Storm or Odin maybe but man those are stiff. Also considering Never summer also for strength and I always here good things about these boards looking at Raptor, Heritage or Premier.

The tech in the Furberg boards really intrigues me reverse sidecut seems like a great idea and I really had my mind prettynmuch set on going that route but everything i think about hitting the steeps in Alaska I worry if that board will hold up.

Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated.

Same purpose, place and time :)
I'll bring my Jones Flagship: the heli operators confirmed that it'll suite well and is often used by guides and guests. Used it back home so far for groomers and sidecountry. Speed, stability and float was great in our terrain. I'm a big fan of this board but can't compare it to the ones you listed since I don't know these boards.

Husband owns a Raptor 164 - he thinks it's a nice board for charging resorts and occasional sidecountry, but he wants something bigger and stiffer and is considering the Flagship, Rossignol XV and maybe Burton Landlord. We'll spend this weekend demoing them. (Venture is hard to get here and impossible to demo). If you have any reasons against these boards, I'd be interested to know.

I own a hovercraft and I like it for deep pow slashing but when it comes to durability im not quite sold on them just yet. In all honesty I haven't had a issue with the hovercraft but I I've read so much about Jones boards and there lack of strength it worries me especially for a trip like that.

The XV is also a sick board Xavier sells that board with every mach speed drop he takes but I don't know to much about there build quality. And I'm not a fan of Burton had some really interesting issues with those boards. quality is nothing compared to the big boys like Venture and NS

Thank you for the input I would like to hear what you guys think of the XV

Get a venture…
I had 3 at one point and currently own a zelix and skylar.
Stiff, fast boards with a nice build quality to them.
They make normal boards feel like Fisher price toys..

I'd go with the storm, zelix or skylar as the odin is VERY stiff.
