Might be a dumb question..
But i'm buying my first park board (ridden all mountain boards for years, and more comfortable in the park now).
I have an awesome opportunity to get my hands on a new NS Revolver (155 wide). Believe me, I have searched a little bit and basically what I have came up with is that its similar to the Evo, but it's made a little wider? Is that right?
Being said that I want the Revolver is because i'm 6" 1, 190 lbs and wear a size 12 boot, so I would need a wide board regardless.
Are all the Revolvers sizes basically a wide?
Are they much heavier? Do they handle well in the park?
Haha only a size 12. When do you think wide boards kick in?
Size 12 is exactly when you need a wide board. Have you ever ridden with toe drag on a board?
There seems to be a lot of people on here that advise people to look at narrow boards when the feet don't allow it. Evo 154 is only 251 w.w. Revolver 155 looks like a good option.
Also the wide versions of boards are stiffer so handle weight per length better than their narrow twins.
you will love that board.....I have one, but wow...190# onna 155?
i'm 5'6 145#.....and mine is almost the same size and noodly.....she'll be
a super noodle for you.....but i'd still go for it.....may be a bit damp for jumps....but kick ass on the jibs.
they're really nice boards imo......and they really take a beating.
Evo's are not noodly. They're basically an all-mountain freestyle board which is stiffer than a jib stick. I'd say you have a big board if you're using it for mainly park. My park board is a 152 and I'm 5'9 160 lbs. 155 cm will be fine for him if you using it primarily for a park board, but if he wants more of an all-mountain freestyle, he might want to bump it up a few cms.
haha yeah 155 for me is the smallest I'll go, I'm hitting the gym a LOT now to shred off 10 or 15 lbs to even it out a little more.
Definitely getting this board!
And I have a CAPiTA that'll be my all mountain board for whenever I'll just cruise down the mountain for the day
Don't be surprised if you end up using the Revolver for cruising the mountain and riding park. Its a fun board. Not really a noodle if you compare it to an actual noodle board but fun none the less. Your weight might make it more noodly then someone lighter.
After you ride it a few times, come back to this thread and tell us what you think!
Depending on Stance, you do not need a wide board at size 12. I ride 18 - 12 and I would have a difficult time dragging my toes on my SL.
