Question Too tight?

so i come from the school of thought of ice hockey; best summed up, i still have scar tissue on the outside of my little fingers, where the laces dug in like cheese wire as i tightened my skates to their absolute limit.

such a desire for snugness persists to this day, when putting on my booties. where as a good, tight fit equates to instant response and a sense of security when riding, is it possible to tie your boots too tightly?

i have the double boa / triple zone technology now and so it is limited by its ratchet strength, but all the same and with comfort senses and all considered, what is the general philosophy? can you have too much of a good thing?

Just coz you don't understand it
Doesn't mean it makes no sense!

i'm the same way paolo...i usually wreck my fingers jacking the strings as tight as i can.

halfway through my day my feet/ankles start to ache from them being too tight. so yeah they can be too tight but if your not getting any discomfort go with it.

I say make 'em as tight as you want as long as it's comfortable for you and you're not restricting or cutting of circulation to your feet... you don't want your toes falling off

You can diminish the circulation to your feet if they are too tight, but if you're not experiencing the symptoms (things like purple toes, tingling, numbness or pins and needles) then you're probably ok. You would definately know if they were TOO tight.

Seriously where to begin with some of you people. You want to be snug in that boot, if you're cranking it to the point of either cutting off circulation or pain. All you're doing is killing your feet, you want that sucker to be snug not to the point its going to kill your feet, that is just fucking retarded. Having a boot that fits like a sneaker is also bad that means you have space in there, which leads to any number of problems. Saying your dual boa is limited once again thats retarded those things break at about 1000lbs of torque, which is something none of you will ever reach as at that point you would be breaking your feet.

Custom footbeds fix a lot of problems they do not however change the forward or lateral flex in any boot whether its ski or snowboard. Thats basic common sense.
