I'm riding a Heelside Destroyer 165 but want to get a new deck. I've decided on a Never Summer Legacy, now I just need to figure out the size. I spend little to no time in the park and ride groomers, trees, and back country.
depends on your conditions, and preference among other things. If the 165 is good, get the Leg-R 166. If you think you are all that is man and wanna rock something bigger, go for the 170. If you want to be a little bit nimbler with a lighter shorter board, get the 163. There is no magic formula out there to size you up
I'm about the same size except size 13 boots. My current board is a Burton Canyon 168 so I'll be downsizing a little but afraid the 163 might be too much. I'm going to demo one of the Legacies, hopefully the 166 from Daddies Board shop. Of course we need about 4'to 5' of snow before they will let you demo a board. Rental cost goes toward the purchase if you decide to buy. Perhaps you can demo both sizes and then make your decision.
