All right, it's time to upgrade decks. I've been riding a RIDE Manic for the past 3 seasons, and I'm not really happy with it anymore. It was a great first board, and it was great for high speeds and carving, but I found it just lacking on big powder days, and it seemed incredibly stiff..As I instruct, I plan on keeping it around for work, but now I need something for just me time.
-I'm looking to excel at a few things. First off I need something that can handle some deep powder for those backcountry days. I'm pretty good at switch, but would like to excel at it, and start stompin 360+ rotations. Would also like to start hittin bigger kickers. I know this is sort of a diverse requirement, but eh. I spend a most my time in the trees searching for stashes, like to jibb and just mess around on groomers, and will definitely spend the other half of the day in the park. If there's powder though I'll just hike all day.
-I'm looking at boards on sale right now, and a few board have caught my eye. I'm checking out the
-Lib Tech Hot knife
-LibT Attack banana(if I can find one on sale)
-Ride Machete, not the GT (gt reviews all report that it's super stiff)
-Academy boards
and was also curious about arbor boards as well.
-As far as my style, loose with incredibly quick footwork.
Now the manic is somewhat of a rockered board, but not to extreme. I notice that the hot knife is some sort of C3 rocker hybrid. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these, especially how the C3 camber from the hot knife works. Down to any suggestions if anyone has any. Love kickers and jibbing, playing around on flat terrain, but I really don't mess around with rails too much. Any/all feedback appreciated. Thanks peoples
I'm 5'7 - 145 pounds. I live in Colorado, so all big mountain stuff, no city skirmishes.
