That will likely have have the opposite effect - it will melt/soften the adhesive. In fact, that is what you do to remove anything glued to the board (stomp pad, stickers, camera mount, etc.).
Yes, I agree its what you do to remove it. But heating up the adhesive and the surface together will help them bond faster then putting it on a cold board. Once you heat them then let it get cold and they will have a better hold of each other.
edit. Similar to tinting windows. Using a heat gun to cure the adhesive
Well, it really depends on the adhesive used. My understanding is that most 'stick on things' work by bonding not by curing. Especially true for re-usable items like camera mounts, stomp pads, etc.
Heat actually softens the bond, so it is used to remove such items or prep them for application (e.g., before re-applying a camera mount in a different location).
