Default A cross between NS Heritage & Nitro Team GW

All,

I'm looking for help trying to find a board that has a blend of the characteristics I like of each of these boards.

Neversummer Heritage: When ever I ride this board i feel like i just beat the hell out of the mountain with a blunt object. No matter how chunky or deep the snow is this board just absolutely destroys everything in it's path, it reminds me of the GNU billygoat for those characteristics but this board is just a tad more freestyle focused. I honestly ride faster on this board more than any other board i've been on and it doesnt feel like it, i've used this board back to back between my team and mod rocker and it's night and day difference. The only draw back to this board is it's not very poppy and is a pain to get to spin off smaller hits which is probably due to how stiff torsionally it is.

Nitro Team Gullwing: Probably the best all mountain freestyle stick i've ridden because it's light, poppy, spins well, stable and damp but still very lively. The board charges hard but doesnt hold a candle to the heritage.

I want the stability and dampness of the heritage where it'll take any terrtain and spit it out, but I want the pop, spinability, lighter weight, and a tad bit more forgiving torsinally similar to the team.

Here is a exhausting list of boards I've ridden or owned that have not fit the part:
Lib Tech TRS BTX
Lib Tech Attack Banana
Lib Tech Travis Rice horse power
Lib Tech Dark Series
GNU Altered Genetics
GNU Riders Choice BTX
GNU Billygoat
K2 Turbodream
K2 Happy Hour
K2 Darkstar
Arbor Blacklist
Arbor Westmark
Bataleon Jam
Bataleon Airobic
Burton Custom Flying V
Burton Uninc
Burton hero
Burton Jeremy Jones
Burton Joystick
Burton custom x
Capita Horrorscope
Flow quantum
Nitro Rook
Nitro Team GW
Nitro team factory
Nitro thief
Nitro T1
Nitro T2
Nitro Pantera
Smokin Superpark
Rome Postermania
Rome Mod Rocker
Rome Agent Rocker
Yes Basic
A handfull of Salmons which I hated all salmon boards i've ever been on.
I'm missing some on the list.

I had both of those at the same time, so I know exactly what you mean. You clearly like the RC profile so I'd say maybe NS Cobra and Smokin KT22.

I had a burton custom flying V and all burton boards I've ever been on do a great job on providing tons of feedback to the rider but does not excel with dampening.

The proto is probably more closer related to my Rome Mod Rocker being a twin tip freestyle board that can slay the whole mountain but when put through rough conditions doesnt cut through the chunder like the heritage and team.

There are so many boards when you ride on groomers feel really damp and cut through the snow well, however when you ride places like Kirkwood and hike some of the terrain you really feel when a board is not suited for those conditions. I thought I found the perfect board with the Smokin Superpark until I put it through some rough conditions and it was having a hard time not buckling or slipping out.

The boards on my radar have been:
- Neversummer Cobra
- GNU Impossible
- Capita BSOD
- Yes the greats
- Lib Tech hot knife
- Lib Tech Magic Banana
- Lib Tech Attack Banana
- Lib Tech Jamie Lynn Fundamental
- K2 slayblade
- Ride Machete GT
- Smokin KT22
- Nitro uberspoon
- Nitro Blacklight

No salomon boards and i'm not thrilled with Ride but understand they are supposed to ride well.

I'm also reluctant to get another Mervin board due to destroying a billygoat and dark series in one season while my nitro and K2 at the time held up just fine.

I was just looking at the Smokin Superpark and they seem to have 3 different camber profiles you can order the board with. Not sure which one you tried, but there is a model that is still a hybrid but with less rocker than norm. That might have more pop and be better at charging. Worth checking out.

Haven't ridden the Proto HD yet, but people claim that it is more damp to reduce chatter and help in the crud. Probably still a bit too soft for what you want though.

The smokin had the hybrid rocker. The rocker wasnt the issue as the board was torsionally soft and I cant remember if the tips or between the feet was soft to the point when you hit chundery snow it has a hard time holding an edge through it.

The proto and mod rocker are like high performance all terrain tires, they do everything very well but do not excel at one or the other. Is the proto better than the heritage when it comes to a freeride type of riding? no, is the proto as playful and jibtastic as the evo ? No, can the proto do both of those relatively well ? yes, and thats what most buyers want if are intermidiate to advanced and just want one stick.

What i'm looking for is an aggresive all mountain freestyle board that is on the stiffer side but not a plank and still has pop. There are a number of stiff "all mountain freestyle" boards that have nearly no pop because they dont want to flex to create that snap. What I mean by aggressive is it has a firmer flex both Longitudinally and torsionally which is what keeps those edges from deflecting off it's course when going hitting harsh snow conditions. What I mean by all mountain is a non specific freeride/pow/park/jib deck, what I mean by freestyle is it has enough flex and pop to allow for freestyle manuevers vs just trying to lay carves and keep the board planted.

If you ride a true freeride board they are not designed to pop or ollie they are designed to keep that edge dug into the snow and not deviate. If you ride a true park board they're meant for quick turns, forgivness from a softer flex, and the ability to load them up for great pop.

I like my banana magic, it is a nice blend of medium stiff, pop, and dampness, for riding everywhere at a fast pace. not very fun for jibs is about the only thing.

The cobra is a little softer in the middle of the board both lengthwise and tonsionally. and the tips are about the same stiffness. The Banana is stiffest in the middle of the board and softens to the inserts then stays about the same to the tips

Oh forgot to add the Capita BSOD to that list. Redesigned yet again this year, so I'm not exactly sure which one would be best for us. I say us because we're both looking for the same thing at the moment.
