hey everyone,
i've been snowboarding a few times and own a K2 Fuse in a 150 that's about 6-7yrs old. i've got some Burton Mission bindings and will be getting some K2 Maysis boots to go with the setup. i'm 5'9" weighing in about 145lbs with a size 9.5 boot.
i'm looking for a new board and have my eyes on Lib Tech's Attack Banana, Skate Banana, or Burtner's Box Scratcher (in that order). i would say i'm a beginner/intermediate rider. i'll mostly be riding down the slopes and might play in the park some.
the K2 board i have is full camber. i've been reading a lot about rocker boards and hybrid boards that they're an easier/more controllable ride. when i rode the K2 board, i felt unstable and could not consistently get a good grip or keep an edge hold. not sure if it's the board or just my lack of skill. so now, after reading about Magnetraction and rocker/hybrid boards, i think Lib Tech would be the next ideal brand for me to try.
please let me know what you think about the boards i've listed and what size i should be looking at. i've been told that a shorter board will give me more control but slower going down the slopes. i'm not looking to be in the park all that much, if ever. a longer board will be more stable but also more stiff, so i'm worried that i may be giving up control because of the stiffness of a longer board.
so in short...i guess i'm looking for an all around board that i'll be able to control and hold edges while going down the slopes...and if i wanted to, i could take to the park and mess around there.
thanks in advance for all of your help!
