Default base edging...

so i i never put my edges on a bevel... the side/base edges are still completely flat... I just realized now that I need to do it... No one ever told me. Is this bad? I noticed the edges are a bit rough now after like 2 days of riding... should I get the edges beveled? I dont have the tools for it so i guess i will take it to a shop.

Also, I never detuned my board... what does this do exactly? Do I need to do it? Thanks.

Yes, detune the tip and tail. Basically round off the non-effective edges with a file.

You don't need to bevel the edges. It depends what you are doing on the board. Then you sharpen the edges to the appropriate angle for base and side edge. Sharpening is basically Debur, Sharpen, Polish. I check for burs and remove them before I ride. Only sharpen, etc as necessary. All of it removes metal from the edge and there is only so much to go 'round. A course or fine synthetic diamond stone is fine for deburing. I would use fine in most instances. A little more work but less risk of unnecessarily taking off metal.

Just search the web. All kinds of videos on you tube.
