So I recently bought a board from a person on craigslist. I went into the house to buy it, and in the room this lady had over 15+ snowboards. And you could tell this person was not a snowboarder or collector. The board just seems fishy. First off, it was very cheap and in almost perfect condition. Secondly it looks as if one of the logos is a sticker. Its raised and glossy while the logo on the other end has no edge to it and is a matte finish like the rest of the board. Also the one logo has smooth lines on the outside, while the suspected one looks like it was cut with scissors. The pattern and design looks the same as other boards, but the sticker thing has me confused. Please help! I attached pics.
DK is a money loser. If they were going to make a fake one it would be a skate banana. It would have to sell for over 50% during the offseason to make it profit.
I guess it's not impossible, but it seems like a shit ton of effort to go through to make a fake board that's already 5+ years old. It'd be a lot of work to make even a bad fake. I mean, what'd you pay for it? $75? If you paid more than that, then you got ripped off even if it's 100% legit. Snowboard tech has come a long way in the last 5 years.
According to all of the google links, it should have MTX. I don't know why they would make a MTX and non-MTX version of the same board. Might want to call up Mervin to confirm. It also should have a serial number somewhere on the top sheet.
This thread is just so full of win. You're fine suck it up and go shred. People get shit at auction, on close out, etc. etc. The time and effort it would take to make a counterfeit board is just too much.
It does not really matter. The OP overpaid whether the board is authentic or not, but it is too small an amount to worry about it now.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
