K2 raygun

Hello All,

My mate is looking at picking up the wide raygun on evo's BF sale. He is a newer rider, rides a variety of terrain, and has a price limit of $200.
I sent him to this deal i spotted http://www.evo.com/outlet/snowboards...-157-front.jpg , and I just want to make sure i didn't mislead him any. My only concern is we ride the icy east-coast, so how does the rocker/flat/rocker profile grip?

Also he is 6'3" and ~180lbs w/ a size 13 boot. Should he get the 157cm or the 160cm. I am kind of torn here because for now he doesn't like park at the moment, but he is still new and doesn't like going fast (which will change obv.)

6hrs left on the sale so prompt replies would be great!

Thanks guys! As always, Your the best. Every last functional and disfunctional one of you.

If you want a board that grips you should look for one with magnetraction but they arent cheap. Try looking for a last years board from (lib tech, rossignol and gnu)

I understand that magne is the way to go for grip, but grip is not the main factor here. A wide, all-mtn, sub-$200 board is the main factor. I am just curious if the raygun will have adequate grip.

It nothing special. It'll still wash out on ice. Magne or other similar side cut would be most beneficial. But for 200 you can't go wrong for a intermediate allmtn deck
