Quick Mounting Question - Snowboarding Forum

So I have my setup together and I'm ready to mount it up. My new K2 board has the standard mounting holes, but four of them in each group are surrounded by little metal ring. Is this thing a washer that can be moved around, or is it telling me the preferred holes that I should use to mount the bindings? My old board didn't have these, so I'm not really sure what they're for.

I'm going to say that those are most likely the default holes. (99.9% sure)
