rome targa, cartel, spi? - Snowboarding Forum

i'm looking for a new pair of bindings. currently riding burton customs, but looking for a stiffer binding for carving and tree runs, general all mtn riding. don't really go into the park too much. probably 80/20 split.

i'm also looking for other recommendations. these 3 just seem to be the most obvious

Targas if you hit the park every once in a while. They are amazingly customizable. Arsenals if you don't do the park.

Any of the 3 you're considering would be better than the Customs you have now. I'd say go for the Targa. Ride has better options than the SPi for what you're looking for.

I've got both the Cartels and C02s, and I'd go with the C02s over the Cartels for what you want.

I haven't ridden the other two you said, so I can't give an opinion on them.

any durability issues with the targas?

most people say rome's are tanks in general, but the targa's are getting mixed reviews

The only issue with Targas is the little opening on the ankle strap that the ladder is supposed to go through.

I emailed them about how much of a pain in the ass that strap is the person that responded said they were working on the issue for next year. Who knows if that is the truth, but at least they responded with something.

Mine didn't rip, but the toe strap one got snagged. Couldn't get the damn thing to release either. Took me a good minute to unjam it...

My riding is pretty similar to yours and I also had Customs before this winter. I would have wanted the Targas but my new Ion boot just seemed to fit the Cartels so much better so I decided to try it instead. I've been happy with them so far altough for some other boot I would probably gone with the Targas.
