i realize both boards are geared towards park riding but which one would be better for just riding down a mountain?

Extreme for sure. The Arti has bronze edges which will get dull and rounded pretty much on your first day, and I just dont trust them. Plus the Arti is basically the softest board of all time, personally I think its worthless. People like it but I dont see the worth in anything softer than a Stairmaster. I think that if you can't press a Stairmaster, learn to press then try again. Sorry about my angry rant on Artifacts, but they're really only good for street riding. And I apologize if I've offended anyone that rides on Arti, buts its the way I feel, and I'm kinda bored at the moment.

i love the artifact but if you are looking for an allmt board then i would take the stairmaster. they are both great boards though. the stairmasterx is much stiffer then the artifact if that helps you at all.
