new board-no wax. OK? - Snowboarding Forum

i just got a forum recon but i dont have wax or anywhere to buy wax in time for saturday. will my board be ok without it? we live in warm weather and snow sports arent an option so no one sells this stuff around here. we are driving 3 hours to st louis saturday to board for the day then heading back home. will my board perform funny without it? will it do any permanant damage? what about the edges? anything i need to do to them before my first time out with it? i have only used rental equipment in the past, do they wax their boards?

no, it's not okay. it will suck if you don't wax it. you can get it waxed at the ski shop at the resort when you get there.

oh, and while you're getting it waxed, buy yourself a few sticks to take home with you so you'll never have this issue again.

Just ride it straight out of the packaging.

The ski shop quick wax will be the exact same thing as the factory wax.

well shit guys. i dont know if they even have a place to wax it for you. it isnt a resort really, just a hill. hidden valley is the name of it.

they almost always have a shop. go to the rental area & ask them to wax your board. they've got the means cuz they rent boards & have to wax them somehow.
