What is the best type of board for me and what size should I get?
I'm 15 years old and have 3 years of snowboarding experience. I live near Chicago and the few winters haven't had a lot of snow except for one storm which gave us 2 feet. Since we haven't gotten a lot of snow, I haven't snowboarded in 2 years. I currently have a burton dom grom 142 and medium union force bindings. Now that I'm 5'11" and a boot size 11, it's time to get a new board and bindings. I already bought a pair of salomon boots size 11. I want a fairly forgiving board that is good for a mix of everything (powder, park, etc.). What size would you guys recommend? The doctor estimates that I'll stop growing at about 6'1"-6'2" so I want a board that I wont outgrow. Also, should I get a wide board? I've been reading that wide boards are good for people who have a boot size of 11 or more. I'm trying to keep the board and bindings under $300 in total. Thanks

You should definitely go for a wide. What's your weight?

~150lbs. How much do you think I could sell my current board and bindings for? They're in pretty good condition

Don't need a wide with an 11 boot size, sorry.

Okay, what type of board should I get? All-Mountain, Freestyle?

300 is a tough budget for board and bindings new. The board is definitely too small for you, but short boards like that don't have the best resale value. I'd hold on to the bindings if they fit and put that full $300 towards a new board.

K2 Raygun is a slam dunk for just over 300 new for a 2014, but you may find last years model for $200-300.

Or get this in a 154 wide if your more park oriented, 157 if you the all mountain kind of guy and that should leave you some cash for bindings.

If you get this board in the 156 you don't need a wide. Rossignol Templar Magtek Snowboard 2013 | evo outlet

Its tough to be picky about what your getting at that price point but i think this combo gets pretty close.

If you think your feet will grow more then a wide might be the way to go, one of these would work

Sorry I didn't see your price was to include bindings. Check craigslist for some bindings.

He's still growing and a size 11 now, he may want to invest in a wide depending on how long he expects to keep the board.

I bought the boots in the summer because I got an awesome deal on them. I went back to make sure they were a size 11 but it turns out that they are actually a size 12. Would this board be nice? In the size of 158 Wide? Salomon Sight Snowboard 158cm Wide
