1st post, need board and binding advice!
Hey folks, I'm eager to buy a new snowboard and bindings and was wondering which ones i should get.
i am torn between a burton clash, burton blunt, and ride agenda. For bindings i am torn in between burton custom's, and ride RX's. Here are my "specs" Weight: 130 lbs. (might increase) Height: 5'7" (still growing) Boot size: Normally 10 but had to go 11 because of parents. Riding style: natural mountain jumps and beginner/intermediate park Budget: Board: $300-$350 (preferably lower) Bindings: $100-$150 thank you for the help, MassMan |
How old are you?

and also will 10.5 have heel and toe cutting into the snow

As far as bindings go, I've ridden a pair of Burton Customs for the past 3 seasons, and they're great for park riding and jibbing. They have good flex and are durable as anything (some people would disagree with more on the durability). For the board, look for something thats wide enough to avoid toe/heel drag but not too wide so that you can't hold a good edge, and get something with a good amount of flex if you're gonna start experimenting with the park. Look for leftover 06/07 model deals at your local shop, and some websites still have good deals on leftover gear.

upon further research and further viewing of posts i have changed my mind quite a bit but still have questions.
I have been looking into the burton elite 151 and rome crail 150 for boards and burton cartels and ride RX's for bindings my questions are as follows 1. which board would you guys recommend for the information previously stated. 2. im pretty set on cartels but if there are any other better bingings under $220 what are they? 3. i have decided on a 10.5 boot. will this fit into a medium binding size and will it create drag. 4. if it will create significant drag then are there any semi-wide boards that you can recomend for the periously stated riding style. |
burton elite or rome crail?!?!
please help |
I would go with Rome personally. Its better quality for the price you pay. As for the bindings 10.5 should fit a medium. one thing to be aware of is that your boots are the most important piece if they are not comfortable your whole set-up will be off.
Here is a link to last years cartels on sale. Burton Cartel Bindings - Closeout > Mens Snowboard Bindings - Free Shipping & No Sales Tax |
hmmmmm
would 07 targa's be better than 08 390's???
thanks for the help! |
