I was wondering if those with experience have a technique to melting a P-tex candle. I have a white base and when I melt my white candle with a lighter it burns the candle and turns it a brown color. How do you melt the candle while keeping it white?
You need to burn it close to the base so that it has a clean blue flame. Start it on a metal scraper or something thin so that you can move it to the scratch w/o lifting it up. If you do move it away from the base you will get a dirty flame.
I've used a propane torch with a metal shield on it and then melt the p-tex on the metal shield.
