You could look a little harder but I will give you a little help.

It can vary drastically by board. Look at the size-weight range chart of each board you're interested in.

For example, you are about 209lbs so on Burton Custom X you would ride the 164 or 165W depending on your shoe size but on a Rome Artifact you would ride the 156. Either way it looks like you are gonna be towards the top of the model's size range

Depend on weight, ability and I'll add size of mountain. I snowboard on small IceCoast Mountain 90% of the time. If in Utah or Colorado my board selection would be longer. As for sales people I was sold a 174 Burton Air as my first board. Paid a big price in $$ and bumps, and bruises. But being 6'3" 240 lbs at the time chart did say 174.

...the reason for conflicting info, (...aside form possibly ignorant salespeople,) is that the board weight/length specs are NOT consistent between different brands of boards. Often, not even different boards from within the same manufacturer! They are usually close, but they all have different recommended lengths for any given weight range!

Ea. board should list the weight/length specs. Either on the wrapper or on whatever web site! If you fall within the printed specs for any given board length that you are interested in, you should be good to go!

....However, even those specs are just guidelines! I am Grossly overweight for the two boards I regularly ride. On the short Mid West groomers I ride? I'm fine. If I was hitting BIG air or pipe, Out west BC? I might be in trouble with these shorter lengths, but that type riding is WAY out of my league right now, so,...?
