Please help guys i am trying to get this used Wide board have few questions!!!!PLZZ

Hi guys,

Need some input please. I got into snowboarding last season and LOVE it. Been on there the mountain 4 times with rental equipment and i am hooked.

Anyway i been trying to pick up a snowboard for this season so i can use consistent snowboard that is for my height. Everytime i rent they give me board that is up to my neck and i heard its suppose to be up to your chin.

I came across this post which matches my price perfectly fine. Keep in mind i am college student so i cant afford brand new board/equipment.

Snowboard and Snowsuit

The board is Nitro 163 Wide.

I am 6'3 , 205 pounds and wear size 11 shoes. The board he is selling is a WIde and comes with size 13 boots.

I am not really worried about the boots because i would have no problem just getting size 11 boots seperately but i am worried that the board might be wide and might hinder the turns i make.

I am already struggling to link turns... my heelside sucks and i feel like a wide board might make this even more difficult.

What do you guys suggest i do?

Thanks so much for the advice!!

EDIT:

This is another option

This one doesnt come with clothes and goggles though and boots are looking kinda crapy but it is a size 11.

Is this board better?

K2 Snowboard, Burton Mission Binding & Boots & North Face backpack

keep looking or use it as a powder board.

I didnt mention this but i am not intersted in doing tricks or anything. My main goal is for next year or so is to be able to get good at coming down the mountain and making perfect turns.

Right now i am stuck at green side of the mountain but id atleast love to be able to go down blue by the time this season is over.

By the way i board in catalooche north carolina and dont think there is much "powder" snow there.

its not like you gonna die riding wide board. you can sell it later I guess.

If that's a Nitro Prime it has a 27.5 waist and that will be much too wide. Buy something else. There are a million boards for sale out there. Check out Geartrade or The Clymb.

Thanks for quick response guys!

What do you think about the K2 board?

you could probably look in a smaller size board as well. Board sizing is based more off of weight than anything else. I'd say you'd be good on anything from a 157-161. Being a size 11 youre right on the cusp of needing a wide board and not needing a wide board.

I agree.. 157 -161.. 161 or higher would be strictly a powder board. Sounds like you're gonna need more practice before you start riding well enough to handle that anyway.

Step away from the wide board

Were about the same size. I float from 190 to 210 lbs, wear size 10.5 boots. Been on boards in the 159 to 165 range. Ended up on a 161 non wide, and love it. Wide isn't for you. Find a 161ish nonwide and rock on.
