Magnatraction, gimmick or no gimmick O.o

Magnatraction or bataleons triple base is this just a gimmick or is it something special since i've only ridden a cruddy rental k2 from the early 90's and thought that was sick

neither are gimmacks at all from what i hear. i have rode MTX and its intense, too much for me but i think i would get used to it if i owned the board. and from what i hear about tbt its like the great thing to ever happen to a snowboard lol. everyone that rides bataleon swears they will not touch another board..

Yes, they're gimmicks. Stick to Lamar and Morrow.

j/k...you made a great choice.

16 Burton Genesis X . 15 Now Drive

i cannae speak for the triple base coz i've not tried it, but it sounds good in theory and i reckon jibbers must love the idea!

but the magne traction, which i was sceptical about is incredible!

i rode a piste on my (fairly well tuned) board, then went back up, strapped in my mate's Lib Tec magne and rode the same piste.

a world of difference. the same piste changed from being a hard packed side skittering chore, into something whcih felt more like a pliable fresh groomer! so much more confidence and ease of turning as you wanted, with no side slip.

if you ride super hardpack / ice, i would say magne is vital!

Just coz you don't understand it
Doesn't mean it makes no sense!

I ride in Ontario and more often than not it's hardpack. The magnatraction on my rider's choice has made a huge difference for me.
