Default Binding Back VS Boot Height

I just recently got some Burton Triads, which obviously have a Highback, so I rode in them this afternoon and noticed a huge discomfort on my lower leg exactly where my boot ends. I compared my boot height, with my friends boot, and noticed that mine ended noticeably lower. I didn't have this problem with my other bindings, which had a much lower back, so I'm wondering if Highback bindings require higher boots.

have you tried rotating your high backs parallel to the board. less of it should be in contact with your leg that way.
