Scratches on newly delivered Board?

Hi I had a snowboard (Rossi Templar) delivered to my in-laws in FL (I'm in Canada and they are coming back in Feb with it). They got it today and noticed scratches on the base. My first impression is that it's in the wax part and shouldn't be too big of an issue. They noted the plastic wrapping was also torn when they opened the box. Evo told me to send them some pics.

What do you guys think? I am a beginner so I'm not sure what the norm is when getting new boards.

Definitely not normal. Send the pictures to Evo like they said you should.

doesnt look normal. seems like packing didnt handle it right and scratched it up.
I doubt its wax. you can take a finger nail and try if you can flatten it.
I dont think it will affect riding performance either, probably just an eye sore since its a brand new board but if will get scratched up later anyways.
its really your call. to me if its expensive highend board I would get another one but if its a entry level board I probably wouldnt bother.

I just received one of those from them and it didn't have that damage. That was damaged in shipping, I'd request a return tag and a new board.

Not normal, but not devastating either judging from those photos. You can return for new, or maybe ask for a good discount (if the scratches are indeed not that deep).

Either option would be perfect IMO. A day on the slopes will get you scratches.

Get the same scratches after one run. Not worth your time to return it.

Yup as stated, wont affect riding but dont return it for a new board, you will do that damage to it on your first run. Ask for a bit of money off and help yourself! I'd buy every board I own with that damage for the 10-20% off

I'd ask them for a gift card. It's not acceptable for a new product but not worth sending back either. Tell them you would normally exchange it, but it would be too much hassle to ship out of the country or whatever and you'd be willing to take a credit toward your next purchase and call it even.
