protective gear

Are spine protectors and hip pads worth the money?? i want to start hitting the park hard but afraid of more and worse injurys then i have gotten just by playin around in the small stuff... already have a helmet and suggest that all ppl wear them.

I'd say if you are going huge or inverted it might be a wise investment, but otherwise they just seem to me that they restrict movement more than they help for protection. I never have used them before, but the most i've tried is a 540 and not really interested in going inverted so never saw a need for them.

I'm not sure if you need to go all out armor plated with a spine protector, but you may want to think about a tailbone protector at the very least. Maybe wrist guards if you're really worried or accident prone.
