'09 Neversummer SL-R just came in...with neon green base too! Ques about detuning it

I was surprised (yet happy about it) that my SL-R came with the neon green base. I've only seen a couple of them and absolutely loved the way they look (not to mention the cool glow on the snow). However whenever I asked around I coudn't locate one. I finally pulled the trigger and just ordered a board. To my surprise it was with the neon green base!

This is my first rocker board. Should I detune tip/tail? Any other recommendations? My other boards '08 Anthem and '08 Axum I detuned them (tip and tail). Just not sure if I should do it to the SL-R as well.

Thanks much

I would definitely recommend taking the time to detune the tip and tail. I came in about 1" on my effective edge.

And ya, Neon bases rock.

Thanks.

Do you know if they only made a limited number with neon bases? I can't seem to find any pictures of them online. The first time I saw it was at the mountain and only have seen 1 other since then.

I also detuned the tip and tail on my SL-R. But I keep my effective edge nice and sharp. I take it on all parts of the mountain park, groomers, trees, steeps, and anything else and never have a problem.
