Burton Baron 172 too much?

Am an intermediate freeride rider looking for a stabler faster ride. Have the potential to get into a Burton Baron 172 at a decent price. Am 6'2 and 180 lbs and wear a size 10 boot. Is this board to wide for me? Or can a rider of my style experience handle the width and length?

Well, the length definately high for you. a size 10 boot can go on most any board but you dont want to have a bunch of extra space as it will decrease handling. I'd say check out this calc: Snowboard Sizing Guide, Size Calculatorto get a good idea of what you would be looking at.

Something between 157-162 and a width of about 247 and 252ish(24.7 cm and 25.2 cm) maybe you could pull off a 155. You are small enough and may like a shorter board.

For me, at 6'4 and 230, I need a larger board like a 163-168 range. I ended up with a 164 which is on the smaller side for me.

Of course it also matters what kind of riding you want to do. Groomers, all mountain, only powder or only park or a mixture.

For example, only park would be a shorter board, only powder, longer board.

Good Luck!
