Default which GNU deck?

Hey guys, i'm in the market for a new deck and am comparing specifically this years danny kass as well as the riders choice. I have a gift card to the source so will be using it when the end of season sales come up on a new board.
i'd like to get some specific feedback/impressions on these two boards, i have demo'ed the t.rice from this year and found it to be too stiff and not playful enough. I am coming from a 2011 turbo dream which i love, but am looking for something with more pop and better edge hold.

i like the DK because the waist width is perfect, and it seems to get good reviews all around, my only concern being the stiffness. my buddy has an old riders choice and says it's awesome but it is a camber model and i'm sure the board has changed heaps since that thing was produced.

also other recommendations would be welcome, the shop carries mervyn, ride, dc, burton, slash

which size gnu dk are you looking at? the 155 is 253 waist width and the 158 waist width is 26. Also the flex rating on the 155 is 6.5 compared to 158 at 7.

And what weight are you? stiff to a skinny person is loose to a big person

fair enough should have given more info. i am 170 lbs, looking at the 158 DK or 157.5 riders choice. I don't put a lot of stock into flex ratings as the feel of them do not always match up with the number. especially with the DK many say it feels more like a 6 than a 7 on the 158. normally i would go out and demo the boards but sadly i do not have the opportunity.

I'm 180# and have been really lusting (and have demo'd) the RC 154 or Bpro 155 for my heft...like the softer feeling and waay easier to throw around with lots of control. I have a 159 goat split and its plenty stiff...at tad too much so for inbounds (a 156 goat would be more playful for inbounds)...and usually ride an old option cambered directional 155 twin stiffy for inbounds which is a lot of fun...will keep riding it till it is dead then get an RC. Also if you want more pop...go for a C3 or find something with rcr....in some ways a c2 really doesn't have the liveliness/pop as a cambered.

I have a Rice 153, feel it's too stiff as well. Picked up an RC 154, weigh 164, and will be trying it out this weekend.

yea i mean coming from the turbo dream anything with hybrid camber will have more pop, but i don't want to go full camber because i find the catch free nature to be more forgiving when learning new tricks, also may take it through some pow so want maximum float (although on pow specific days i'll still rock the TD). MJP let me know what you think of the board, i'm really torn on this one.

been riding next year's Rider's choice for a couple weeks now and it's pretty nice. Playful but can still carve. I don't think there's any difference between the 2014 and 2015 but I'm not sure

So, I broke a binding ladder on the day I had the Proto out and spent a full day on the RC. I really like the RC, turns were easy to initiate, floated in powder, but handled like every other Mervin board I've owned, Trice, skate banana, C2, Banana Magic, it didn't just 'awe' me, but it was easy to ride. Leaning more towards the proto to be honest, just because I have a Trice and a skate banana.
