So I've been reading up on alot of stuff in this forum the past few days (and learning alot!). It's crazy I never found this site before...
Anyway, I just got an old Rome Design board (for real cheap! woohoo!) and want to do maintenance on it myself. After going through the waxing tutorials, I'm pretty sure that won't be a big deal (thanks for the awesome vids snowolf!)
My question is... does anyone know what the factory edge angles on the Rome Design are? I want to make sure I sharpen my edges with the correct angle... may as well keep it at factory default until I get more advanced.
(I'm glad I read up too... looks like all I may need is one of those cheap edge tools for simpler maintenance)
Also if anyone knows more about the board, I'd love to hear about it The board I have is the first model year for it (not sure what year that is though). What kind of tech is in it?
well its a directional twin, and im guessing its bevel is -1. as far as i know, or more recently at least, rome uses a 1,2,or 3 degree bevel for its level of park/ride. like a design is more freeride, so it would have the lowest, an artifact is all park so it would have the highest..
So, since calling up Rome to get the angles on this board, I've been wondering, is it too extreme?
It has a 0 degree base bevel and a 1 degree edge bevel. Almost everywhere I've read online says the base should be 0.5 or 1 otherwise it could be too grippy. I'm no pro either so I wonder what other people's thoughts are on this...
Of course I'm not going to change the base angle anyway until I've actually had a chance to try out the board so maybe its a moot point until I get the change to try it out!
