Board Tech advances in the past 6 years ?
So I haven't been able to get out to snowboard much lately. I used to have an account here but I forgot my info, so yea it's been awhile.
Anyways I was just wondering what sort of tech advances -if any- have occurred in the past 5-6 years ?
The last board I bought was like an '07/08 Gnu with magne traction (sp?). I remember the skate banana was new(ish) around that time. Is the magne traction (serrated side wall) thing still popular?
Just was interested, I used to follow all this stuff and now I'm out of the loop.
Most are riding different combinations of rocker and camber for all mountain riding, it really depends on personal preference. These are the biggest advances. there is a sticky on top of this forum that explains the different shapes
Maybe the use of basalt weaves instead of fiberglass as well, but that doesn't make a huge difference.
Magnetraction is pretty popular still but only used on mervin and rossignol boards, i have both and get along just fine with or without it.
One new technology I've been interested in is Triple Base Technology (TBT). Rather than me trying to explain it, I'll just leave this: Bataleon
