What Burton board is this? Is it worth $40 for a noobie?
I'm 13 and this size comes up to my nose, so that should be good. Can anyone tell me what the age and model are? The seller says there is no other name on it besides Burton. Link to add below: Thanks!

It looks pretty old. If you're willing to spend a little more money you can get a much better board. What's your weight and shoe size? What level rider are you?

56 inches = 142 cm? That should be fine, size wise. My first board when I was 13 was 160-165, and my second board when I was 14 was certainly a 165 (still got it).

Anyway, I can't speak for the current market, but to me if you're just looking to get started and looking for a board to try out to see how you like it, $40 can't be beat. Heck, I don't know if you can rent a board for that. So even if you get only a few uses out of it, throw it away and buy a new one, you're good.

Just my $0.02

you can get a board that is within this decade for 80 bucks, that thing is old!

Thanks for all of your tips. I just went to see it. It says "Fly Core" and it's really beat up. I didn't buy it. Thanks again!

I found a Burton Cruzer 139 (up to my chin) with clicker bindings and boots that are probably a little too big for $100. I want to ride mostly in the park and not down long slopes. This would be my first board....any thoughts on the Cruzers? Thanks!

technically you should be looking at weight for sizing but I know that when getting your first, beat up board it's more about the deal and having a souped up piece of wood to fly down mountains on. With regard to boot size, that shouldn't be so care free. You want them to fit properly no matter what.
most people are anti clicker bindings(for good reason imho) so final decision: probably not worth the money. You could try to get just the deck and drop the price significantly but then you're spending on bindings. I think no matter what you'll be spending on boots unless you get lucky and find a comfy pair that someone is getting rid of
