hey guys,
New to the forum and i'm just like veryone else, torn between two boards haha, 159 trs mtx and the custom x 160 i tried to search but because the trs mtx is two 3 lettered acronyms it was fruitless. so here goes i'm looking for anyone who has ridden either of these boards or both. i'm into the glades, goin fast, tru carves, and hitting the nice mellow park jumps (the decent sized tabletops and doubles i.e.10 to 20 ft gaps) but i do want to progress my jumping ability. here are my stats weight: 170 height: 5'11" boot size: 11 (rulers) area: northeast style: freeride ability: 6 (out of a 10) thanks for any input, Dane |

mr. illegal,
when you say the x is serious you mean very stiff and fast?? or do you mean price tag, haha. . . do you think both of these boards will be fine width wise with a set of 08 ruler 11's layin down some armpit draggin carves? i run my bindings at +25, -15. . .just slightly nervous about the width, i have a feeling both boards will be very sweet, i have and old canyon i'm rockin now just lookin for something agile and fast without sacrificing toe/heel drag. thanks, dane |

I just bought the TRS MTX 157 (it came down to that and the Custom). I am the same height as you but I only weigh 160. The guy at the shop who has a Custom also said what some mentioned above (i.e. serious board etc). I wear a size 9 boot (Ozone's) and I have plenty of room, but if you are concerned you could also look at a Skunk Ape (they said it would be too wide for me). |

thanks for all the replies,
SMS, i had looked into the skunk ape but it had gotten some kinda crappy reviews, definately something to look into, but if i can get away with a mid-wide i would be pretty siked. Shredder, thanks for the info, i pmed you with a couple more q's seeing as you have the same setup as i would be looking into getting. |
