Default Looking for board.

Hey guys. I'm 5'6 and weigh 140 lbs. I live in the east coast and the places I go the snow isn't great. I mostly just freeride but would like to get into freestyle sometime. My budget is around $400 for everything. Any board you guys recommend?

I'm going to assume that you don't have big feet either. Take a look at the Atomic Alibi.

Um, is that how much you want to spend just on the board, or on the whole setup? I wasn't quite sure...

Nope I wear size 8.5 boots. Preferably boards boots and bindings for $400. How are the Forum Recons and Salomon Ace boards?

I looked at the Recon line for a while, but then decided on the Rome Crail. They are pretty comparably priced, and I think that the Crail is higher quality. But, first go to a shop (if you can) and buy some nice boots. Then decide on what else you are getting based on the money you have left.

If you're on a budget, get the boots first. It's going to be tough to find a decent package for $400...

Yeah. I'm just getting an idea of what boards to look at. My college has a ski club and they're having a big annual sale. If I can't find anything there I'll buy it online. Thanks guys.

What college are you at? I'm in NJ too, and I just got a brand new Gnu Carbon Hi-Beam 156 from Ski-Barn in Totowa for only $229. They have locations all over NJ. Get your bindings off of sierrasnowboard.com they'll ship within a week and they have lots of leftover '07 burton bindings. You could probably find good boots there too, but don't buy any boots online until you've actually tried them on in a store first.

Yeah sierrasnowboard is a good site. For other options check out the-house.com and buysnow.com as well. Hope your sale shopping goes well!
