Burton Sweet Tooth 141
I got a great deal on a flat top 141 Burton Sweet Tooth, my first board. I took it out on two mountains immediately and really felt good. The conditions were good which helped (soft semi wet loose granular/no ice). One thing that was tricky (compared to the beginner boards I used) was transitioning on flat, I fell a bunch. I tried to have a slight edge moving fast but seemed to slip if that makes sense. By the end of the weekend I was getting better but it was still a bit of a nuisance falling on a flat straightaway.
The previous boards I used were all Burton rentals including an LTR.
Different profiles ride differently. I don't know anything about the Sweet Tooth but I know some boards get very squirrelly on the flats. All Burton boards are not equal in terms of profile and they will ride differently so what you rented may be completely different than what you bought.
Squirrely is a good word. Here are the specs
Flat Top Bend
Women`s-Specific True Flex Super Fly Core with Dualzone EGD
Nug Raduction optimizes every element - from waist width and flex profile to sidecut and running length - letting you downsize up to 10cm from your normal board length. Light and lively, easy to throw around, surprisingly floaty, poppy, and stable at speed - Nug Raduction will change the way you look at board length for good.
Rising rider or seasoned pro, keep your game high and tight on the Flat Top. A flat profile between the feet means stability, better balance, and continuous edge control. The tip and tail kick up with an early rise outside the feet for the catch-free, loose feeling you`d expect from rocker.
The shape is perfectly symmetrical for a balanced ride that`s equally versatile when ridden regular or switch. Jib, spin, stomp, and butter with a greater balance of freestyle mobility and cat-like stability no matter which way you point it.
The flex is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail for a balanced ride that`s equally versatile regular or switch.
Core Lightened up and loaded with pop, this vertical sandwich of hard and soft woods saves weight and improves snap and response. Further optimized for float in our freeride focused boards, and strength in our park-focused boards.
Versatile flex and response for everything from mini to mega shred.
Durable and highly porous, get added durability and superior wax absorption for greater overall glide.
Edges beneath your bindings extend out slightly for tremendous edge-hold on hard, icy conditions. Powerful when you need them, playful when you don`t, Frostbite Edges are hungry for hard-pack while remaining ever forgiving in softer conditions.
Lengthening the surface area at the tip and tail contact points improves edge-hold and allows the board to plane easier in powder. Enjoy a livelier feel and enhanced grip on groomers along with added float for overhead days.
This exaggerated tip and tail scooping turns up the edges for a looser, more forgiving feel that adds catch-free fun when riding everything from a knee-high box to neck-deep pow.
