the only thing i don't get is , if the proceeds go to charity, doesn't it make more sense to sell to as many people as possiable.
i want one.
Now i have to get a hold of a buddy to buy it.
can't we simplify this ?

Um, no. They are not a non-profit. They lose money on each board they donate since they have to build the board.

Yeah, it's net proceeds being donated.
Part of the deal with these boards is to give military members a chance to buy a special board at a significant discount.

ahh gotcha, didn't catch the "net."
In any event, if they allowed anyone to buy it, why even offer it regularly at all.
