Default Crack on board edge: manufacturing failure?

Hi, probably I hit a rock and now there is a crack/crevice on the edge. But arent edges supposed to be ductile, so that even if I hit a rock, the edge should protrude out instead of cracking?

You can crack them or tear them out. Either is bad and generally not covered.

The manufacturer failed to tell you that board is for snow, not rocks.
