those look cool and I'm sure they float like crazy in deep pow...but I find myself riding backwards even in deep pow sometimes and those would definitely not work for me.

Agreed. I've had to rule out all swallowtails and directionals like the Hovercraft and Fish. Maybe if I lived in AK or something...

it appears there are some versions of the burton fish with a round tail...but I could be wrong

Last weekend, rode my old 2009 Bataleon Undisputed/rock board for the first time in almost 2 seasons (because there hasn't been nearly enough snow to go off trail at our resort) and it was f*cking awesome. Thing was going off - forgot how good that board rips. High performance, yet so smooth and floaty, I nick-named it the "powder yacht".
