Its time for an upgrade! K2 SlaybladevSalomon Villain

Hey, this is my first post and I'm looking for some advice in regards to choosing my next board. Im extremely pumped and I think I've narrowed it down to two. But quickly, here is some background info about myself. I like both freeride and freestyle and consider myself in the lower end of advanced. I go down Colorado blacks often but at the same time like to screw around in the terrain park and work on my grabs and rails. Now that you have an idea of my skill level and what I like to do, I'll say that I'm looking at the Salomon Villain (more park oriented) and K2 Slayblade (more freeride) (both 2013). I'm looking for input on their quality, longevity, and best bang for your buck (I'm strapped for cash and need it to last haha). Thanks for any input your guys have.

Both good boards. Where are you willing to sacrifice more? Park or freeride? The Villain is equally as "bad" at freeride as the Slayblade is in the park.

Freeride has higher priority for me now that I think about it. So here's my next question, would the K2 make the park very difficult or would it just be inconvenient at times? I would still like to do somethings in the park without being too handicapped.

The Villain is nowhere near as handicapped as people think outside the park. its however not really particularly a soft noodle park board by any means.

if freeride is higher priority then i would go for the slayblade, i got to demo one this year and is a killer deck....just saw that they have some 2012/13 models at evo for $330ish too...

That's a big reason why it caught my attention! I think the k2 may be a final choice. Thanks to those who replied.

Why not get an all mountain board? I ride a Jones Mountain Twin and its great for park other then rails and great for freeride.

They're both supposed to be all mountain with a slight preference to either park or free ride. At least that's what I understood from looking them up. If I'm incorrect please let me know.

The Villain is all terrain jib. The Slayblade is backcountry freestyle or freeride.

Thank you for clarifying. That helps a lot!
