My First run on Never Summer Ripsaw - clocked 30mph carving on a short green

When I received the saw I took it to a small green for its first test run. Here is a video link to that run. In the video I let it open up as I carve near the end of the green. This is chair six on big mountain. The board is 157cm, with GNU Agro bindings, which I specifically adjusted for this board to have a good calf to high back fit. Out of the box the Agro fit loose to the calve so disassembled the binding cable lock-in and moved it up a notch, with good results (just tightening the cable per the GNU directions didn't work). I also tried the GNU Mutant bindings but the Agro worked much better with this board. Boots are Burton Driver X. This run was with the factory wax and this is the wide X blade.

The saw edge transitions better than any other board I have in my quiver. However it does not like slow wet snow nor does it like going slow. You can do nice easy slow run side to side turns but it doesn't feel good like on a proto. Also need to proper form or edge catch. This is the X wide version deck.

He was laying that sarcasm on pretty thick.

Yeah I know. There were little kids learning on that green and just standing around or moving slowly so I didn't open it up till after I passed the instructor and child at about 1:02 into the video. I took it over some bumpy crud near the end of the video during a toe side transition to test stability as you can see and it rode flawlessly. So the point is the saw is a Rocket even on easy terrain. The snow was hard but no ice.

So unless you played on the beginner hill all day what was your actual max speed? I hit 30mph on a Ride Crush just a few weeks ago...

Saw a guy with a brand new ripsaw at Boyne my last trip up. Nice looking board. Had a short chat with him, checking out the board etc. i just got a quick look at it but It seemed to me that the crc was quite a bit more subtle on the saw compared to my proto. Do you find that to be the case?

Hell, I hit 30mph this past weekend while jibbing rocks on my hip.
