Park Pickle/Burton Flying V/Skate Banana

Hello everyone,

So I recently started snowboarding, but instantly fell in love with it. I've been looking for a new board, but am not sure which option to choose. The top options that have been brought to my attention are the Park Pickle, the Skate banana and the Burton flying V. All seem like good options, and deals are really good right now. Does anybody have any input to what I should choose? Completely different boards are options as well. Thanks!

the usually questions

weight?

where' you plan on riding?

why type of riding?

boot size?

You can throw away the burton option.

The banana if you are doing park and small hills or pickle if you want to really ride switch , but more of a "nice to have" feature but not necessary.

if you want mt board for speed and jumps look at other models.

150lbs
alot of park, but also alot of trails, and free riding.
Size 9 boot

What other models would you suggest.

Pickle will be a great choice for about 50 days on the hill. Once it really breaks in it becomes more of a park board on the jib side. For all mountain freestyle and some park, check out the Lib Tech TRS, Capita DOA, or Bataleon Evil Twin. These three boards are great all mountain freestyle and park jump boards but not jib boards. If you are really into boxes and rails you may want to consider a jib board and an all mtn board. End-of-season sales are on right now.

As an aside, when I bought the Pickle it really progressed my riding on the mountain and in the park. It rips in the pow too. Now that it is fully broken in and I am a better rider it is just not stable enough to be my all mtn board. I love it in the park and on pow days tho.

Picked up a 2014 pickle for the last 3-4 days of the season, this is my first season boarding and the pickle really seemed to help me progress, havnt had any trouble trying my first boxs, rails, and medium size jumps. Im pretty nooby so i havnt fully figured out the landing thing yet but it doesnt seem to matter if you land all fucked up on the pickle, its easy to recover on. Also, Magnetraction, is the best shit ever, im in socal and it was pretty icy/no snow this season. Was fun watching my buddy struggle to not wash out on the ice and i just cruised down right over it no drama. Came from a 161 traditional camber loner board so i dont have much to compare it too unfortunately. It seems to me that its a very playful/forgiving board with alot of tech, i absolutely love mine. plus they on sale for like 350-375 atm =)
