Girl's Magne-traction Board...

Looking for something like a Rossignol Diva - I want it to have magne-traction, and be super noob friendly (rockered or at least hybrid, camber/rocker/camber like parkpickle is preferred). The only problem with the DIVA is I dont really have ~350 to shell out right now.

This will be my girl's her first board (and yes, she has rented enough to know she wants to invest into the sport).

What are my options that won't break the bank? I'd really love to snatch something up on sale for around or under 200 if at all possible. GNU's Lib Tech's, Roxies, Rossignols are all very welcome, so long as they are magnetraction models.

Any experience and/or input is appreciated.

I would look at the Velvet Guru from GNU. Currently around 315 but its a great all mountain board that your girl can progress on and will suite her for a long time. Has .5 magnetraction so it gives really good edge hold.

My lady demoed the Ladies choice which is kinda the big sister to this board. Only difference is the ladies choice has a sintered base and full magne-traction but she absolutely loved it. But im guessing because jamie anderson the ladies choice is gonna stay at around 475 for the board.

She ended up going with the Burton Deja Vu flying V. It is also around 300 Also a good board that she can progress well on. It will be very forgiving and good in Powder/ Okay in ice/ and good in the park or just cruising around.

Most roxy/gnu ladies boards won't fall much under $300 for a new board. I've done my time watching their prices. Just keep an eye on eBay and craigslist if $200 is your budget. Something will show up. There are also a few used boards on geartrade.com right now. My wife learned on camber just fine, so don't be scared of not having banana. Plenty of good used boards out there.

Okay guys, thanks all for the input.

I looked at all the Roxy choices and all the other boards out there, but came across an unrefusable deal.

Just managed to grab a new 2014 Rossi Diva Magtek pricematched (thanks evo.com) down to $250.

Pretty happy about the choice - just a few quick questions tho, rocker underfoot and camber inbetween is a noob friendly shape, am I correct? It's the less edge catchy however more stable version of full on rocker banana?

If you are set on MTX find a board that has the mild version. I have a rossi board with 7M edges, its not for beginners. Doesn't like to be smeared and it will cut into soft snow and not want to let go. My board with mild mtx is perfect, don't notice it until I hit an icy patch and get that extra bit of help.
