Girl's Magne-traction Board...

Looking for something like a Rossignol Diva - I want it to have magne-traction, and be super noob friendly (rockered or at least hybrid, camber/rocker/camber like parkpickle is preferred). The only problem with the DIVA is I dont really have ~350 to shell out right now.

This will be my girl's her first board (and yes, she has rented enough to know she wants to invest into the sport).

What are my options that won't break the bank? I'd really love to snatch something up on sale for around or under 200 if at all possible. GNU's Lib Tech's, Roxies, Rossignols are all very welcome, so long as they are magnetraction models.

Any experience and/or input is appreciated.

Beginner, all mountain - some jumps, almost no rails, mainly blue runs.

Ice coast. Preferably new, I'd do used as well (hard to find used GNU's libs roxies to be honest).

130lbs and size 8.5 foot

Thanks for the input. I wasn't sure if prices would keep dropping but if you say they do this is in no way a purchase i need to rush with as it's a gift for next season :yahoo:

So I found a slightly used 2009 GNU B-Nice on sale for around 130, is this a deal worth hopping on?

I'm not sure whether it's a banana though, could not find any information with regards to its shape... :icon_scratch:

Btx

B-Nice should be BTX;
rocker between the bindings and flat to mild camber tip & tail

^I don't know...seems as though the '10 models were with the then "new" BTX.

If it's a mid 150's cambered MTX, wrath will be all over it.

KayZ: Any way you can inquire or get pics of the profile?

I would look at the Velvet Guru from GNU. Currently around 315 but its a great all mountain board that your girl can progress on and will suite her for a long time. Has .5 magnetraction so it gives really good edge hold.

Blem at EVO

New at REI

My lady demoed the Ladies choice which is kinda the big sister to this board. Only difference is the ladies choice has a sintered base and full magne-traction but she absolutely loved it. But im guessing because jamie anderson the ladies choice is gonna stay at around 475 for the board.

She ended up going with the Burton Deja Vu flying V. It is also around 300 Also a good board that she can progress well on. It will be very forgiving and good in Powder/ Okay in ice/ and good in the park or just cruising around.
