Hey Guys, I'm trying to put together a decent list of all the brands currently in the industry for a class project i'm working on. Am I missing any from this list that you can think of? Thanks for the help.

I don't get it, do you want snowboard brands only, or brands that make snowboard hardware, or just anyone remotely connected to snowboarding...???

Just Boards i can think of a few

Amplid
Apex
Elan
Kessler
Niche
Weekend

As for Brands that make other products

Sweet Protection
Forcefield Body Armour

The lists go on and on...!!!

Think you need to actually think about what it is you actually need and define the list much better in terms of what a snowboarding company is, then go away, work out who is still trading and then come back and ask...!!!

#4 · (Edited)
I haven't gone through the list yet but I've been pulling names from some other sites that have put down lists. I pulled this list from a couple other sites that had these brands listed under snowboarding. One of the sites was what seemed to be an industry site. I'm sure there are probably brands that don't fit in the list but i'll have to go through them all.

Kevin, thanks for the companies, I will add them to the list. I'm looking for board manufacturers, hardware, bindings, wax, and accessories. I can also put some apparel brands.

#7 ·
Here's the list after I added the suggested companies. I took off a few that were out of business.

Also, the list can include companies that produce products for other industries but market to the snowboard industry or have a product line for snowboarding. For example, adidas - adidas Snowboarding

BurtonAvenger what sucks? Maybe you could just contribute your opinions in a constructive way so I can understand what you are actually trying to say. I went through almost all of the companies on that list and they certainly seem like they have something to do with the snowboard industry. Almost all these companies have sites and list a shit ton of retailers on their websites. So, I'm a little confused with the comments. Why not just contribute if you know so much.

Sabatoa, Thanks man.

#12 ·
Maybe you could actually contribute something to the community here. But that might be asking a bit too much.

I love that there's a plethora of dead snowboard brands in your lists as well as strictly ski companies.

It tells me 1. That you don't know fuck all about snowboarding 2. That you're clearly lazy about researching and 3. I'm speculating here but this isn't for a project but comes across as more marketing research for someone/something.

#13 ·
And that is a lesson in how to call a Spade a Spade...!

And to be fair, BA has a point, a total of 5 posts and all in this one thread, clearly a bit lazy when it comes to research, even after people helped...

Maybe looking at the list and doing some research on what has been pointed out to you, may be a better way to start approaching this...

And before you ask why you got this answer, if you did some research on who posts in here you would already know... ;)

I joined the forum so that I could hopefully connect with some people who have insight on the industry. Yes, I'm in a business marketing class right now and had to do market research on an industry. I am contributing by posting a completely snowboard related post on this forum. At some point in the future someone will be looking for the same information and because certain people contributed it would save them a bunch of time. It is better to have accurate information.

Instead of just ignoring my post, you are wasting a ton of peoples time by posting. Now they are going to have to scroll through all your b/s whining to get to any information. And, if my list is so incorrect, they are going to have shitty information. Way to go guys. That's a great contribution to your industry.

Here's the list again. Make sure you change your tampons before you read it.

Any updates are welcome. I will delete what you think may be inaccurate.

No you joined because you suck at doing work yourself and figured someone else could give you the answers you seek because GOOGLE wasn't easy enough.

Yes, I'm in a business marketing class right now and had to do market research on an industry.
We have rules for people like you http://www.snowboardingforum.com/we...embers/51207-posting-surveys-advertising.html

I am contributing by posting a completely snowboard related post on this forum.
No you are coming here not looking for actual snowboarding advice, you are looking for answers to further fulfill your scholastic work and get you a good grade.

At some point in the future someone will be looking for the same information and because certain people contributed it would save them a bunch of time. It is better to have accurate information.
Because Google just isn't easy enough? Also you are implying your information is accurate, it's far from it.

Instead of just ignoring my post, you are wasting a ton of peoples time by posting. Now they are going to have to scroll through all your b/s whining to get to any information. And, if my list is so incorrect, they are going to have shitty information. Way to go guys. That's a great contribution to your industry.
Ah I see you suddenly feel that TONS of people are just actively searching out this information. They're just sitting here reading your HUGE and MAGNIFICENT contribution to this site. Oh my god look at me, look what I did with the Google machine! You are a child of a generation of fucktards. Go swallow some bleach douche nozzle.

I would also like to point out your use of the "your industry" statement. It clearly shows you have no connection to this industry nor care about it so that would make it ours. We deal with people like you as we see fit. WAH NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY BALL WITH ME, WAH! MA WE NEED MORE MEAT LOAF!

Here's the list again. Make sure you change your tampons before you read it.

Any updates are welcome. I will delete what you think may be inaccurate.
I abridged your list because you suck at life and hopefully this will drop some knowledge on you that you could have learned if you actually did real research. I laugh at your generation who feels your degrees or studies in marketing and retail will actually mean anything in the real world. The sad part is you're paying them to give you a piece of paper which ultimately will put you in debt and means fuck all in terms of experience. Then you'll spend the rest of your life working for someone else to pay down this debt to get ahead, but not really getting ahead. You should probably just kill yourself now, far faster journey to the end of the game of life.

Retail market and distribution in regards to geographical locations and shit.
I'm sorry I'm laughing too hard right now. Seriously. HAHAHA.

Why do you continue to waste your time with this? With the amount of words you just typed you could have just written one productive thing. For example, tell me what to take off the list.
Why do you care what anyone says to you on the Internet? It seems from that horse you're on you should be able to see all from up there. OH I rectified that list for your lazy ass, although I highly doubt it will actually teach you how to research anything on your own.

I literally went to every single one of these companies websites. Many of them are up to date and current. Maybe there's a chance you don't know as much as you think about these companies or what they sell.
Yeah HTML 2.0 is so fucking current. You should probably think before you post chief.

So, yes, I could go wondering about different posts and find different brands here and there but really, I may end up in the same position as I am now. The brands they mention might appear up to date but according to you forum nazis, it's wrong.
The Nazi party were fascists, we're not fascists if anything we're more Maoists which would make us communists. Since this is a community and you get out what you put in, maybe you'll learn that. Although your generation is too incompetent to understand that so we should all just rejoice that 3 in 5 of you will die before you're 50.

Can you clarify WHAT market research you are doing...???

Listing companies that may or may not be involved in an industry, is hardly the research you think it is...

As for how the forum members deal with other forum members and there posts, well, normally it is very helpful, and informative, what you have posted is a list, that to be fair, most people can make up by doing a search of google, except it would probably be more accurate, i mean, you only have to watch about 15-20 snowboard videos and you would get a more accurate list of snowboarding companies from the sponsors, or look at sites that specialise in reviews of snowboard equipment and you would have an accurate idea of what companies are still trading...

Here's a thought, do some research yourself, just on the people that have posted responses so far, and see who has what to say about the snowboard industry, and what is good and what is not so good...

You may well be surprised what you can learn by simply reading about the people posting on YOUR post...!!!

When you have done that, with a slight attitude adjustment, you may just get the help you are asking for... But at this point i doubt it, and as far as your contribution goes, nobody cares about a list that means nothing if it is not accurate...!!!

actually giving you shit is worth the effort if it can discourage other people like you from starting useless threads like this one in the future. this could've been a lot more interesting and I'm sure a lot of people would've contributed if you showed a bit more interest in the subject. "companies that produce products for other industries but market to the snowboard industry" says it all for me.

Thanks for the info. I don't really care about all the other stupid shit you just wrote. You have 9,439 posts. I hope you get carpal tunnel. You just wasted so much of your time on this you angry old man. Work smarter, not harder. Guess they didn't teach you that in 1920.

47% of people over the age of 85 have some form of dementia. Most people with dementia undergo behavioral changes during the course of the disease. They may become anxious or repeat the same question or activity over and over. As the disease progresses, one's behavior may seem inappropriate, childlike or impulsive. Anticipating behavioral changes and understanding the causes can help you deal with them more effectively.

Come on neni! He's asking ppl here to do much of his research for him. You really can't expect him to do any research here to help facilitate his asking us to do his research can you? ;) :D

(...in his dictionary, under redundant, it says "See Redundant!" ;)

Personally, based on his style of arguing and insults to BA? I suspect another possible DC troll incarnation! :dunno:

I'm seriously not asking people to go out of there way and actually do research. I'm literally asking for advice and If there were companies that are wrong I wanted to clarify it. Also,"Chomps", because I don't tell people I fingered their dad's butt holes (which i'm still confused who that is insulting) my style of argument leads to the assumption that I am a "troll"?

Thank you Neni for having a completely normal answer and to the other few people who just contributed some input without giving me a bunch of shit.

BA, your assumptions appear wrong:

Apex - Apex Sport - Good as Gold
HDX - HEAD Snowboard
Lap Hing - Yeah, it is a manufacturers for snowboards - Lap Hing - Snowboard Boots and Bindings Manufacturer
Monson - Yep, manufacturer, that's the point. Monson Custom Snowboards and Wakeboards
Mountainsmith - Mountainsmith.com - Ski Boot Cube
Pierce Engineering - yep, they make snowboards. therefore they are in the industry. therefore they sell to retailers Design Inventions, Engineering Design and Prototypting Companies
POW - POW Gloves | Ski, Snowboard, and Winter Gloves
TJ and Grace - another manufacturer in the industry T. J. & Grace Industrial Corp. - Snowboard Accessories, surfing accessories manufacturer Taiwan
Orion Ski & Snowboard - out of date but still, they did snowboards- Orion Ski & Snowboard Collection 2006 - 2007
Arnette - Looks like googles to me - Snow Goggles | Products | Arnette US
Black Strap - Snowboarding all over this. - Face Masks | Balaclava | Neck Tube Gaiter | Danna | BlackStrap
M3 - Looks like they are releasing 2014 gear M3 Snowboards

For my intro: I'm from the North-East but I live down south right now for school. I grew up riding in Mt. Snow, Stratton and Killington and all the other mountains in NH. I climb Mt Washington in the spring and ride the Tuckermans bowl. I went to camp at Mt. Hood. I'm not a gear freak and don't care about whose shit is the best or not. Now, you know a little about myself and you already know about the project I'm working on. Hopefully you can shut the fuck up about being a "troll" or whatever the fuck that means and just contribute a brand or two.

BA, your assumptions appear wrong:

Apex is a boardercross/hardboot brand.
never heard of Head Snowboards being called HDX
Mountain Smith makes one ski boot bag, cool.
Manufacturers make the snowboards for the snowboard companies, so they are not really snowboard brands. a few (Elan [which went out of business and their factory is now owned by CAPiTA], Nidecker, Smokin, Signal, Never Summer, and Mervin [and probably a few others) are snowboard companies that own their factories.
if you want an up to date list, don't include companies who last made snowboards in 7 years ago.
Arnette went under after this last season. nothing coming from them in 2014/15.
M3 used to be a rad company. then they went bankrupt. then someone bought their name and started making cheap boards to sell at Sportmart. technically, yes. but if anyone who actually snowboards sees them on a list of "Current snowboard companies," they will laugh at you.

You guys are all a bunch of PABS. I'm just asking for some current brands so I don't get misinformed with all the garbage information on the internet. Yeah, I ready you dumb ass welcome letter. I just want to mention that I still had you do work for me. Now I've filtered out the shit companies, found other sites for resources and met some great new friends a long the way. Thanks guys. Unfortunately, you don't discourage me, I've been on other forum before. You are all the same no matter what industry. A bunch of old fat, lonely bitches. I'll let you guys know what it's like to graduate from something and make $$ of pussies like yoursleves. PABS.
