Waxing questions

I just got my board waxed and it looks like the shop I went to did a shitty job. Since I don't have a real scraper, I took a plastic ruler, lightly ran it down the base, and there was a good amount of wax still on the board. Will this extra wax hinder the performance of my board? I just ordered a tuning kit but I need a quick fix as I am going boarding in a couple of days.

additional residual wax will usually break down on your first few runs anyway so i wouldnt worry too much about it. as long as you got rid of the larger build up areas.

do you know if they hand tuned it or ran it through a machine?

what kind of hand kit did you get? i picked up a dakine one years ago and have been pretty happy with it. had to buy p-tex but that shits cheap

I'm not sure if they did it by hand or machine but it looks sloppy. I can still see the scraper lines going down the base. I order the Dakine Super Tune Kit and going to buy some Hertel wax since from what I've read here is pretty good stuff.

Thats the way to do it!

Chances are if you can still see the scrape marks they didnt get all the wax off AND didnt buff, i'd almost take the board back if its still visible and ask for your money back.
